FT27 Future Fellowship working draft

Editable application baseline reconstructed from the applicant-supplied FT260101712.pdf (submitted 5 November 2025). This is a working draft, not a submission-ready application. The source PDF remains unchanged.

Build and review

Chrome or Chromium is required for PDF generation. Use --no-pdf for HTML and review files only. Use --strict to return a failure while submission blockers remain. A normal full build returns nonzero if a stored page/field limit or budget arithmetic check fails. It does not certify compliance with FT27 rules.

Edit data/ft27.yaml and templates/, then rebuild; generated files in build/ are overwritten. The five PDFs use the established filenames. Draft labels are intentional. Internal editorial notes are collected in the review checklist rather than inserted into the application prose.

build/review_checklist.md: page checks and outstanding decisions/evidence.
build/validation_report.json: machine-readable checks, character and whitespace-delimited word counts, and budget reconciliation.
build/rms_form_fields.md: normalised form text for review and copying; paragraph breaks are included in character counts.
build/reference_tables.yaml: qualifications, appointments, research outputs and historical D1 budget.

The source’s field and page limits are FT26 baselines. Verify the actual RMS counters and FT27 instructions before submission. Career and funding evidence remains historical unless explicitly edited and verified.

Work completed on 9 September 2026

Recovered both C1 figures directly from embedded JPEGs on source PDF pages 15 and 17, preserving their source labels. Condensed B8 without adding achievements, and shortened B9/B10 to fit the stored word limits. Added E5 and word-count validation, reference/form exports, budget reconciliation, isolated Chrome rendering, and a review checklist. Restored figures and the new layout require regenerated PDFs; old PDFs are never used to validate a new build.

The figures are historical reference artwork, not newly licensed or independently verified images. Retain source attributions when revising them. C2 is a transcription for review, not a newly issued institutional letter.

FT27 round status

Checked 9 September 2026: ARC’s 18 August 2026 notice schedules FT27 applications to open on 23 September and close on 6 November 2026. The notice describes an updated application/award assurance process and directs applicants to the Grant Opportunity Guidelines once published. Do not assume that all FT26 form fields remain required or that the previous layout requirements are unchanged.

The new research angle, current career evidence, institutional salary/stipend rates and commitments, and reissued C2 letter require applicant/Monash input. Calendar-year shifts alone do not update the budget. Keep Year 1-4 labels until the applicable commencement basis and rates are confirmed.

Produces build/ft27_complete_application.html and build/ft27_complete_application.pdf, containing the available A-F form information, reference tables, D1 budget, five supporting sections, and review notes in one paginated document with PDF bookmarks. This is a local review copy, not an official RMS export. B12 and B14-B17 have been restored from source page 11; B17’s historical Yes response is flagged for confirmation rather than silently corrected. The authorised certification of the old submission is not carried over.
